Personalised signet rings
On this page you will find a small selection of the different models of signet rings. There are many more possibilities besides the models below. For example, for each model it is possible to increase or decrease the size of the stone. In addition, there are also multiple options in materials, you can choose from: 14 karat yellow gold, white gold or rose gold. Yellow gold is by far the most chosen material, but we also stock models in white and rose gold.
In addition to all this, the ring can of course be fully personalized with an engraving and the stone type, but you will find more information about this further down the page!
Coat of arms engravings
A coat of arms engraving is the perfect way to represent your family's rich history. A coat of arms is composed of 5 parts, from bottom to top as follows: Shield, Helm, Mantling, Torse and Helmet crest. Want to see exactly what these parts look like? Click here for a picture with an explanation.
Also, with coat of arms engravings there are some traditions regarding the type of coat of arms you may carry. For example, the son carries a different coat of arms than the daughter, and with the daughter there is also a distinction whether she is married or not. Coat of arms in signet rings are always engraved in mirror image by default. This is an age-old tradition and dates back to the time when signet rings were actually used to set stamps. By engraving in mirror image the coat of arms in the stamp will be oriented correctly.
Engraving a family crest in a stone can be done from € 380,- and engraving a family crest in gold can be done from € 426,-.
Monogram engraving
For years, monograms have been used by craftsmen, artists and royalty to authenticate their work and documents. The monogram ensured that their work was instantly recognizable. Today, monograms are worn as an own trademark, a way for a piece of jewelry to reflect the personality and identity of the wearer.
The choice of fonts and the way the letters are arranged ensures that no two monograms will be alike. The monograms are engraved into the stone or gold in an artisanal manner, thus reflecting durability, class and quality.
Engraving a monogram in a stone starts from €249 and engraving a monogram in gold starts from €249.
Types of stones
Layered stone
The layered stone is by far the most commonly used stone in signet rings. The layered stone gets its name because the color of the stone is built up in layers. A layered stone has a darker shade of blue at the bottom of the stone, on top the color is often lighter. This creates a beautiful contrast when engraved in the stone. Carnelian
The carnelian stone is the most classic type of stone. In Roman times, signet rings with engraved carnelian were already used to seal important documents. So if you want a truly classic look then the carnelian stone is a great option! Hardness: 6-7 Mohs. Wikipedia
Jasper
The name Jasper comes from the ancient Greek: íaspis, meaning "spotted or speckled stone". As soon as you see the stone it is immediately clear why this stone was so named in ancient times. Jasper comes in many color varieties, but only the green variety is used in signet rings. In this stone there are red spots. Hardness: 6-7 mohs. Wikipedia
Onyx
The onyx is known for the deep black color of the stone. This black color makes the Onyx less suitable for engraving, as there is no contrast between the top layer and the bottom layer of the stone. Lapis Lazuli
Lapis Lazuli is characterized by its azure color with gold inclusions. The stone has been used since ancient times to decorate statues and utensils. In the Renaissance the stone was pulverized and used as a pigment, this pigment was the most expensive pigment for the color blue, and was used only by the most distinguished painters.
